Zac Griefs photo gallery of a visit to Holland

“The  photos to the left are taken from my trip last weekend to Holland with Ron Ponti. Ron was delivering some engine parts so I tagged along and we also went to a 50cc race parts show at Grolloo near Assen.

Highlight for me was spending an afternoon and evening with Aalt Torsen. Aalt as I am sure you know must be the worlds most experienced 50cc racer/ engineer and has the 50cc land speed record from Bonneville in 2014. We had a look over the bike and its putting out over 24bhp with a good spread of power. He has a small bike museum at his house and the biggest trophy cabinet I have ever seen.

He also has a great workshop with many interesting projects and a 50cc vee twin engine should be running next month, one of the photos show Aalt talking about his engine. A thoroughly nice chap who talks and advises openly and his wife is a great cook.

The show at Grolloo was quite small but lots interesting stuff, great variety of bikes from state of the art automatic freetechs to classic racers from the 60s and 70s.

A great weekend full of 50s.”
