Sam Grief and dad Zac
“….Sam and I ( Zac/ Dad ) first got the idea about racing 50s when we were showing a race bike at the Telford bike show early 2013.
We started building a Kawaski AR50 based racer but changed direction early on when a rough but “all there” Kreidler came along. “
“….The bike was modified over the winter for a full season in 2014.
We had our first wins at Darley Moor that summer which after all the problems of our previous outing was one of the most memorable and emotional days ever.
We had several good finishes that year to get overall third in the championship with only 4 out of the 6 championship rounds, we were very pleased.
Both Sam and I are mad on bikes and I love engineering, so me building and maintaining the bikes with Sam riding gives us a good partnership and quality time together. “
“….We modified and rebuilt the bike over the summer and entered our first race in the September at our local circuit, Darley Moor.
It was a disaster and anything that could go wrong did !
I don’t think we completed a full lap in practice and 2 races combined.
Sam did a stirling job on the bike and was only 15 at the time with very little experience of road riding. “
